On January 25, GNYHA hosted the first workshop on action planning for its Patient Safety Culture Survey Initiative. Kendall LaSane, Senior Director, Quality and Patient Safety, discussed the importance of safety culture and how to use action planning to become a high reliability organization. Breakout groups reviewed their culture of safety survey results, selected areas for improvement, and defined goals. They also discussed visions for safety culture.
The workshops help members analyze their survey data, make the data actionable, and build their action-planning infrastructure. The workshops also focus on how to communicate survey results and efforts to address survey findings to leadership, staff, and patients and their families. GNYHA will continue to help members implement impactful, data-driven performance improvement strategies.
