GNYHA hosted a webinar this afternoon that addressed characteristics, comorbidities, anticipated outcomes, and the management of hospitalized COVID-19 patients. In addition to observations of hospitalized patient characteristics, the panel of speakers described planning for the post-intensive care unit (ICU) and post-acute care needs of COVID-19 patients with complex dispositions.

David Chong, MD, NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia will moderate a panel to include Mangala Naramsimhan, MD, Northwell Health; Radu Postelnicu, MD, NYU Langone; and David Steiger, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, discussed the following topics:

  • Post-ICU/post-acute COVID-19 patient characteristics and outcomes
  • Modeling for chronically ill COVID-19 patients
  • Planning, staffing, and patient management in chronic ventilator facilities
