October 6, 2021

The House and Senate will continue negotiating the Build Back Better Act, which is advancing via the budget reconciliation legislative process. Congressional Democrats and the White House continue negotiating the legislation’s overall spending levels and provisions, including expanding Medicare benefits, addressing the Medicaid coverage gap, lowering prescription drug costs, and extending subsidies on health insurance exchanges. Please see ML-91 for more information about the proposals in the House version of reconciliation legislation.

GNYHA will continue to advocate for our reconciliation bill priorities (attached), which include graduate medical education and physician workforce expansions, capital funding for hospitals and other health care providers, health insurance expansions, and support for home- and community-based services. We will update you on any advancements in the infrastructure legislation.
