DOH Issues Guidance on Intradermal JYNNEOS Injections

August 26, 2022

The New York State Department of Health (DOH) has issued updated guidance for health care providers and vaccine administrators on JYNNEOS, the monkeypox vaccine. The updated guidance includes new considerations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for administration of JYNNEOS since the emergency use authorization was modified to authorize intradermal administration for patients over 18 year of age.

DOH also has released a screening checklist, vaccine screening and consent form, and a training for intradermal administration of JYNNEOS.

GNYHA encourages providers to review the updated materials and a recorded webinar hosted by DOH and the New York City Department of Mental Health and Hygiene (DOHMH), which has information on how DOH and DOHMH are working to ensure equitable access to JYNNEOS, updates on CDC data pages, and details on JYNNEOS efficacy studies worldwide.
