2026 NYC Hospital Medical Countermeasures Update Survey

June 2, 2026

As part of this summer’s special event preparations, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) is updating its pharmaceutical medical countermeasure and surge plans. To support the allocation of medical countermeasures (e.g., prophylaxis) to the health care delivery system during large-scale emergencies, DOHMH is asking New York City hospitals to complete its 2026 Hospital Prophylaxis Update Survey.

The survey seeks information to support the dispensing of medical countermeasures to hospital inpatient populations and staff who would not otherwise be able to receive these medications at a general public dispensing site during an emergency. Hospitals are asked to answer questions on the daily census, staff workforce, and contact information. Detailed instructions can be found attached. Hospitals should coordinate submissions through their emergency preparedness coordinator and appropriate internal departments (pharmacy, supply chain, respiratory). Surveys must be completed separately for each hospital location or standalone emergency department.

Please complete this survey by June 10. Direct any questions to Sofia Manzi with DOHMH’s Bureau of Emergency Field Operations at smanzi@health.nyc.gov.
