Infection Prevention

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 1.7 million health care-acquired infections (HAIs) occur each year. HAIs are associated with increased morbidity and mortality and additional medical costs. Compounding the issue is the growing emergence of superbugs that are resistant to antibiotics. Eliminating HAIs and addressing antibiotic resistance are at the top of hospital patient safety priorities. GNYHA quality and patient safety project managers work directly with hospitals on implementing and improving infection prevention and control practices.
