From June 11 to July 19, 2026, the New York City metropolitan area will play host to a variety of special events associated with both the FIFA World Cup and the US Independence Day celebrations, in addition to all the annual events occurring during the summer months.
GNYHA is coordinating closely with government agencies in New York City and New Jersey on health and medical planning for these upcoming special events. Our planning efforts are focused on ensuring awareness around the changing event landscape and enhancing hospital readiness through coordination with health and medical working groups in both New York City and New Jersey, including New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM).
