Mother Cabrini Health Foundation Announces Nursing Funding Opportunity for Hospitals

October 21, 2024

The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation (MCHF) recently released a request for proposals for its Nursing Initiative, a program to support hospitals that provide a significant amount of care to high-need populations. Hospitals can use the funding to pursue American Nurses Credentialling Center accreditation through the Magnet Recognition Program or the Pathway to Excellence Program. The funding can also be used to implement or expand programs in virtual nursing and/or nurse residency programs. Awardees are eligible to receive up to $1 million annually for up to five years. Proposals are due to MCHF by December 4.

New York State general hospitals and acute care facilities that substantially serve high-need patient populations are eligible to apply, including safety net hospitals, other community hospitals, hospitals serving primarily rural regions, and hospitals that cater to a large proportion of Medicaid enrollees and/or uninsured patients.

While hospitals that have initiated the process toward Magnet designation may apply, hospitals that currently hold Magnet designation are not eligible for this program.
