GNYHA’s quarterly meeting of the Hospital Language Assistance Coordinators Forum covered the National Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Service Standards, New York State Department of Health efforts to provide translations of patient-facing State forms and documents, and GNYHA’s January 20 “Briefing on Legal and Operational Considerations to Address Diversity in Clinical Trials,” which included several language assistance considerations. The meeting was held on February 8.
A panel discussed connecting telehealth and interpretation services. Mount Sinai Health System and NYC Health + Hospitals representatives described how they integrated interpretation services into their telehealth platforms. Panelists reviewed the functionality and workflow for connecting patients to interpreters during telehealth visits and provided high-level data on patient utilization and feedback.
