City Council to Examine Long COVID, Reproductive Rights, and Maternal Health

The New York City Council will hold a number of hearings over the next week before adopting a reduced summer schedule. The Committee on Hospitals and Subcommittee on COVID Recovery and Resiliency will hold a joint hearing at 10:00 a.m. on June 27 to examine “Long-Term COVID Treatment in New York City Hospitals.” The Committee on Women and Gender Equity will hold a hearing at 1:00 p.m. on July 1 on reproductive rights, during which they are expected to move several bills related to reproductive health care. GNYHA will not testify at these hearings, but we will update you on any significant developments.

The Committee on Hospitals and Committee on Health will also hold a joint oversight hearing at 10:00 a.m. on June 29 on “Maternal Health, Mortality, and Morbidity.” GNYHA Senior Vice President Lorraine Ryan will testify on behalf of our members.
