Information on New York City PPE and Ventilator Stockpiles

September 15, 2020

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) has established a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Ventilator Stockpiles that will serve as an emergency resource for health care facilities and organizations across New York City during a future patient surge.

Both stockpiles are operational as of yesterday (September 14).

Your facility should have received information (including FAQ documents) and log-in details last week about the PPE Stockpile, which is being managed by Medline, and the Ventilator Stockpile, which is being managed by AgilitiHealth. Recorded webinars and instructional documents are attached below.

The stockpiles are designed to meet the emergency needs of health care facilities during a patient surge once all other options have been exhausted. DOHMH has developed product allocations based on historic use, and these allocations will be used to inform distribution decisions. Hospitals that are currently working through the ventilator recovery and replacement process with DOHMH are advised to obtain replacement vents through that process. Those units will be made available in the coming weeks, whereas units via this process will only be made available during a surge situation.

If you have questions about the PPE and Ventilator Stockpiles, please contact ppesupport@health.nyc.gov or call the DOHMH Provider Access Line at 866-692-3641.
