The attached Federal document from the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and National Counterterrorism Center urges hospitals across the United States to have increased vigilance for “lone wolf” terror attacks.

Also attached is a special bulletin released yesterday by the American Hospital Association (AHA) that shares the Federal communication and a number of additional resources related to active shooters and recognition of suspicious activity. The AHA shared this bulletin at the request of the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response.

While there have been no specific, credible threats against hospitals and health care facilities, Federal agencies remain concerned, noting that ISIS recently encouraged its followers in the US to perpetrate such attacks.

Hospitals are urged to review both of these attachments.
