GNYHA Urges Congress to Address Hospitals’ Critical Infrastructure Needs

March 11, 2019

GNYHA sent a policy proposal to Capitol Hill this week to highlight the need to address the nation’s deteriorating hospital infrastructure. GNYHA believes now is an opportune time to address this long-overdue issue due to bipartisan support for infrastructure investment.

GNYHA will strongly advocate for the inclusion of hospitals in any infrastructure legislation. Congress should prioritize hospitals’ ability to access capital for infrastructure projects, funding to expand telehealth and health information technology, and funding to bolster the shortage-plagued health care workforce.

Hospitals are an essential part of the nation’s infrastructure, and Congress must act on this vital issue. GNYHA encourages its members to contact their lawmakers to discuss their infrastructure needs
