The Department of Health and Human Services, the Office of Inspector General, and the FBI Criminal Investigative Division, in coordination with the FBI’s Office of Private Sector, prepared a Liaison Information Report to inform health care providers and public health entities about several reported incidents involving fake COVID-19 vaccination records. The report recommends that vaccine administrators do not share blank vaccine cards with individuals who have not received a vaccine, and that health care professionals discourage individuals from sharing photos or copies of vaccine cards, particularly on social media. The report stresses the importance of continuing to follow CDC guidance regarding social distancing and the use of personal protective equipment.

New York State Repeals COVID-19 Immunity Law
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed into law the repeal of New York’s immunity law, the Emergency or Disaster Treatment Protection Act. The repeal removes liability protections for health care providers and facilities in connection with the care of COVID-19 patients on a prospective basis.
