DOH Opens Application for Medicaid Accelerated eXchange Program

February 24, 2020

The New York State Department of Health (DOH) has opened the application process for safety net providers to join the Medicaid Accelerated eXchange (MAX) program, a rapid-cycle continuous improvement program developed under the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment program. Applications are due by March 6. The MAX program supports success under value-based payment arrangements by improving care for patients with underlying unmet needs that result in the high utilization of hospitals and emergency departments.

MAX participants will create action teams comprising frontline staff from organizations such as hospitals, primary care providers, skilled nursing homes, home health agencies, and social service partners. The teams will receive workshop and coaching support for a five- to six-month period. The MAX program will also include a “train the trainer” portion to support future continuous improvement efforts.

Interested participants should register for an informational webinar that will be held on February 28 from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Please contact IPRO’s Karen Lasher with webinar registration questions. Information on past MAX programs is available on the DOH website.
