GNYHA would like to remind hospital and nursing home members of New York State Department of Health (DOH) requirements around coastal storm preparedness and available resources.
As described in DOH’s December 2021 “Dear Administrator Letter” (attached), all hospitals, nursing homes, and adult care facilities located in New York City are required to review, update as necessary, and attest to the validity of their data in the Health Commerce System’s Health Emergency Response Data System Critical Asset Survey (CAS) and the Facility Evaluation Planning Application (FEPA). This effort must be completed by March 31, 2022.
DOH has issued numerous resources to help facilities complete the CAS and the FEPA. These include:
- An overview of 2022 NYC Coastal Storm and Flood Planning Activities
- DOH Office of Health Emergency Preparedness FEPA User Guide
- A FEPA Webinar Training Recorded Session; registration information available here
