The City Council Hospitals Committee and Health Committee, chaired by Carlina Rivera (D-Manhattan) and Mark Levine (D-Manhattan), respectively, held a joint oversight hearing on “Health Access in New York City, and the Roll Out of NYC Care” on October 31. Council members examined the NYC Care program, a bill to establish a health access program, and a resolution in support of a GNYHA-backed bill in Albany to expand Essential Plan eligibility to undocumented immigrants. GNYHA submitted a written statement in support of this resolution.
The Hospitals Committee and Technology Committee scheduled another joint hearing on electronic medical records for November 20. GNYHA is formulating a response. Robert Holden (D-Queens) chairs the Technology Committee. More information is available here.
