On April 30, GNYHA will hold a call on behavioral health’s role in providing emotional support and behavioral health first aid in your hospitals. As our medical colleagues were called upon to respond in an unprecedented manner to the COVID-19 emergency, so too have behavioral health providers.

On this call, Charles Barron, MD, Medical Director of Behavioral Health, NYC Health + Hospitals; Sabina Lim, MD, Vice President and Chief of Strategy, Behavioral Health, Mount Sinai Health System; and Susan Wilner, Assistant Director, Behavioral Health Services Operations, Stony Brook Medicine, will discuss organizational leadership, mental health programming, and resources established to support hospital staff. We also will explore how behavioral health providers are prepared and supported in their new roles in challenging environments. There will be ample time for discussion. Additionally, GNYHA will review coordination activities with hospital employee wellness colleagues and address New York State’s plans to expand behavioral health services similar to Project Liberty after 9/11.

In advance, please e-mail Alison Burke any questions and topics you would like addressed.
