CLABSI is the next phase of the GNYHA/United Hospital Fund Collaborative to eliminate central-line associated bloodstream infections.
In 2005, GNYHA/UHF launched the initial CLABSI Collaborative (then-called CLABs) to eliminate these deadly infections from hospital intensive care units (ICUs). When the initial CLABSI Collaborative ceased data collection in 2007, GNYHA members had reduced infection rates on average 54% Collaborative-wide.
GNYHA and UHF are partnering again to refocus the CLABSI reduction efforts, now focused on central-line infections outside the ICU setting and within the pediatric arena.
