Kathleen Shure

Kathleen Shure has been with GNYHA since 2008. She is responsible for all managed care and insurance activities and is also heavily involved in health reform policy matters involving coverage expansion. Prior to joining GNYHA, Ms. Shure was director of the Office of Managed Care in the New York State Health Department where she was responsible for regulatory oversight of the managed care industry in New York, implementation of all Medicaid managed care programs and was the Department’s lead on federal waiver and universal coverage initiatives. Prior to joining the Health Department, Ms. Shure worked with the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System running their management services organization and with HIP Health Plan where her last position was Senior Vice President in charge of provider relations and government programs. Ms. Shure began her career with the Health Care Financing Administration working in Medicaid reimbursement. She has a BA in economics from Colgate University and an MPA in health administration from NYU.
