On October 3, Governor George E. Pataki and United States Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Michael Leavitt announced an agreement on the Federal-State Health Reform Partnership, or F-SHRP, waiver, which will provide $1.5 billion in Federal funds to New York State for health system restructuring activities over the next 5 years.
