Ismail Sirtalan has worked with GNYHA since 1995. He was responsible for building the informatics infrastructure of THEORI and continues to ensure that it is state of the art. He also provides econometric and statistical expertise for the Institute’s research in the areas of risk-adjusted comparative quality and efficiency analyses, hospital utilization patterns, and national payment policies. In addition to his work at GNYHA, Dr. Sirtalan is an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Prior to joining GNYHA, Dr. Sirtalan was a senior research analyst at the National Bureau of Economic Research and he was a lecturer at Hunter College. Dr. Sirtalan earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, concentrating in the areas of health economics and econometrics.
