Lloyd C. Bishop, Vice President for Government Affairs and Community Health Initiatives, has worked for GNYHA since 2001 assisting with government affairs and, more recently, community health and workforce diversity projects. Prior to joining GNYHA, Mr. Bishop worked in Washington, D.C., first as legislative assistant to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan , and then as the Director of Intergovernmental and Tribal Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Care Financing Administration (now the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services). Before to moving to Washington, Mr. Bishop served in New York City government during the administration of Mayor David N. Dinkins as Deputy Administrator for Legislative Relations at the Human Resources Administration. Mr. Bishop also previously worked in Albany for the New York State Assembly and for the former New York State Department of Social Services. Mr. Bishop holds a BA in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany.
