Greater New York Hospital Association
Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), founded in 1904, is a one-of-a-kind trade association comprising nearly 300 hospitals and continuing care facilities, both voluntary and public, in the metropolitan New York area and throughout the State, as well as New Jersey, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Over the years, with the help of our members, we have redefined what a trade association is and should be, and have created a dynamic center for discussion and collective advocacy.

NO MORE HEALTH CARE CUTS, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

In response to the SFY 2010–11 Executive budget, which includes $1 billion in proposed health care cuts, the GNYHA/1199 SEIU Healthcare Education Project released a statement and TV ad warning how these cuts will hurt patients and communities.

For more information on the Healthcare Education Project, and to view the TV ad, visit www.healthcareeducationproject.org.

Albany has cut health care funding seven times in the past three years—hospitals and nursing homes can’t withstand an 8th cut. Please join GNYHA in telling the Legislature: No More Health Care Cuts, Enough is Enough!

GNYHA Launches the 2010 Census Resource Center

Every 10 years, the U.S. Census Bureau is required to take a population count, including patients determined to be living in health care facilities.

To assist members in the Census process, GNYHA launched the 2010 Census Resource Center, which contains information about working with the U.S. Census Bureau to gather information from your facility while protecting the confidentiality of your patients/residents.

For more information on the 2010 U.S. Census and how it affects your facility, please visit the GNYHA 2010 Census Resource Center.

GNYHA Supports Member HIT Adoption

Health information technology (HIT) offers health care providers opportunities to improve the quality of care, enhance patient safety, and eliminate inefficiencies in order to reduce the cost of care.

In response to recent HIT policy proposals and funding opportunities, GNYHA, together with its member-staffed HIT Steering Committee, has developed a comprehensive educational program to help our members maximize the return on their HIT investments.
